Nowadays, the security domain, which can identify person today while only could see person before, has been put forward much new requirements. That is “look broader and vaster”. However, most off-the-shelf cameras can only sight a very limited area, and cannot observe the whole motion processes of targets in a large enough area.
To address this problem, our Computer Vision Group has done a lot of research work, and then our 360 degrees panoramic cameras emerged. Our panoramic cameras are mature products which can monitor global area, whole process and full angle of view. And it does not need auxiliary mechanical rotation (pan-tilt control technique) to achieve 360-degree real-time monitoring. In addition, it needn’t switch screen to realize continuous shooting particularly on larger scenes which can solve the problem of interrupted scene of common cameras in multi-directional controlling, which also can facilitate the workers. What is more, our panoramic camera can monitor the whole scene of 360 degrees in each frame simultaneously so that there is no blind area.
Recently, our group has achieved great progress in the field of high-definition panoramic cameras after developing a series of standard-definition panoramic camera products. The resolution of such H-D panoramic cameras as 800M and 1000M pixels our group developed is more than 8 times than the commercially available cameras. Our cameras can be widely used for safe monitoring, and even travelling, 3-D street view, aerial reconnaissance and video session and so on. Up to now, our panoramic cameras have been successfully used in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Ningbo and so on.
