A new FeBPSiCu amorphous alloy was first fabricated by the Magnetic Materials and Advanced Devices Division of NIMTE in 2008. The new amorphous alloy exhibits not only excellent soft magnetic properties but also super-high saturation magnetization of 1.9 T. Meanwhile, amorphous alloy ribbons with large dimension can be prepared. Since the amorphous alloy has the saturation magnetization equavelent to silicon steel and the excellent soft-magnetic properties, moreover, the research production possesses completely independent intellectual properties; it is expected to replace the existing transformer cores made by the silicon steel alloy. The popularization and application of this kind of transformer cores will make a significant contribution to save energy, reduce consumption, and decrease emission.
