The 2024 China-France Young Leaders Program, co-organized by the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs and the France China Foundation, was held in Tianjin and Beijing from March 21 to 25. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and France, over 60 young leaders from fields including government, business and academia of the two sides had various forms of exchanges during the forum.
Li Hongzhong, Member of Political Bureau of Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC), met the delegates of the program on March 25 in Beijing.
Prof. WANG Liping, vice president (presiding) of the Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering (NIMTE) of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), was invited to make an address on behalf of Chinese participants. He overviewed the close cooperation between CAS and France, and expressed his hope for a better future with the joint effort of young generations of both countries.
During the 5 days of visits, activities and discussion sessions, the delegation of young leaders from China and France have engaged in cultural exchange, shared their views and ideas of issues like new quality productive forces and green development, thus enhancing mutual undestanding and connections.
Since 2013 the annual Young Leaders Program has been held alternately in France and China. One of the organizers, the France China Foundation, was an idea of the former French prime minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin.
