On the 2023 Asian Photovoltaic Industry Association (APVIA) Awards Ceremony held in the 16th International Photovoltaic Power Generation and Smart Energy Conference & Exhibition, Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering (NIMTE), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), won the 2023 APVIA Technological Achievement Award, as the only Institute Awardee of the award this year.
The APVIA Technological Achievement Award was awarded to NIMTE in recognition of its industrial contribution to solar energy industry, especially the significant contributions to the development and promotion of tubular plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) equipment and Tunnel oxide passivated contacts (TOPCon) set technology conducted by the Crystalline Si Solar Cells & Wide Bandgap Semiconductor Group led by Prof. YE Jichun.
The Group has been committed to the research of TOPCon crystalline silicon solar cell technology since 2015, and combines fundamental research with industrial application, yielding fruitful achievements.
The APVIA has launched the APVIA Awards to honor the organizations and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the photovoltaic industry through achievements in the areas of capability development or innovation.
APVIA Awards are major highlights in APVIA bi-annually, which are presented in five categories. APVIA Technological Achievement Award recognizes universities/colleges, research institutes, enterprises and individuals for their scientific and technical innovation in the photovoltaic industry and their efforts in the harnessing of new technologies, new materials and new techniques for the photovoltaic products.
This award indicates that the research efforts and technological achievements of NIMTE has been highly recognized by the photovoltaic industry.
