Recently, Elsevier, the world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, released its list of the "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" of 2021, with a total of 4,701 Chinese researchers with the most influence glocally 523 universities, research institutions and enterprises appearing on the list.

This list covers 84 first-level disciplines under the 10 academic fields formulated by the Ministry of Education.

Among the 268 Chinese researchers elected as the 2021 "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers"in the discipline of Materials Science and Engineering, 3 researchers work for the Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering (NIMTE), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), i.e., HUANG Qing, LIU Zhaoping and WANG Liping.

“Highly Cited Chinese Researchers” are world leading researchers whose publications are highly cited in academic journals in mainland China. They are all top researchers with great contributions to their fields.

The selection of the “Highly Cited Chinese Researchers” is based on Scopus, one of the most authoritative abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature in the world, serving as a significant index to measure the scientific research achievements of researchers.
