Prof. CHEN Tao from the Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering (NIMTE), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), has been elected as Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) in recognition of his research contributions.
Prof. CHEN dedicated himself to the cutting-edge application research of biomimetic intelligent polymer materials in the fields of intelligent drive, soft robot, camouflage & anti-counterfeiting, flexible wearable sensor and solar-driven water purification, yielding a series of innovative achievements.
Up to now, Prof. CHEN has published more than 200 journal papers with total citations of over 8000, including 8 papers selected Essential Science Indicators (ESI) Highly Cited papers.
He has applied for over 40 national invention patents with nearly 20 patents issued, and presided over a number of scientific research projects, including the Youth fund of the National Nat ural Science Foundation of China, Key Research Program of Frontier Science, CAS, etc.
In addition, Prof. CHEN is the recipient of some prestigious fellowships and awards, e.g. Distinguished Experts of Zhejiang Province, and served on the Editorial Board Member of journals such as Supramolecular Materials, Polymers, etc.
FYI:
As the oldest chemical society in the world, the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) which was founded in 1841 in the UK, is now one of the most influential academic associations around the world. RSC is a not-for-profit organization with more than 50,000 members. Each year the RSC committee selects scientists globally based on the recommendation of expertise and awards fellow status to those who have made outstanding achievements and boosted the development of chemistry.
