On August 11, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) held a joint webinar themed on Material Sciences. The Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering (NIMTE) of the CAS and the TUBITAK co-organized the webinar.

A total of 26 scientists from 12 research institutions and universities including NIMTE, the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology (NCNST), Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SICCAS), TUBITAK Marmara Research Center, Bilkent University and Sabanci University, etc. attended the webinar with an online audience of nearly 200. They discussed topics of mutual interests in fundamental research on advanced materials such as nanomaterials, magnetic materials, polymers, biological materials and their applications.

Through sharing their research progress and exchanging their research interests, the researchers got to know each other and moved further to new partnerships.

Both sides have decided to support further collaborations and continue efforts to promote the development of research on material sciences in both China and Turkey. As the co-organizer, NIMTE will be a part of the collaboration.
