The project entitled “Research on Key Technologies for the Precise Actuation and Control of Intelligent Manufacturing Equipment and Its Industrialization” led by Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering (NIMTE), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) was honored with the first prize in industry-university-research collaboration by China Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration Association (CIUR) on January 6, 2019.
Industry-university-research collaboration has been a trend worldwide for promoting technological innovation and economic development. The interdependency of Stanford University and Silicon Valley is a typical example of such collaboration, which not only turned the university from a second-rate school in the early 1940s into a top university globally, but also paved the way for the prosperity of the Silicon Valley.
The team of precise motion and advanced robot technology at NIMTE adheres to the philosophy of developing key technologies for industrial application. It has cooperated with local enterprises including Haitian Group with numbers of achievements such as motors for robot joints. Recently, the project entitled “Research on Key Technologies for the Precise Actuation and Control of Intelligent Manufacturing Equipment and Its Industrialization” led by NIMTE and in cooperation with two local corporations was honored with the first prize in industry-university-research collaboration by CIUR. The prize is the top honor in China for such kind of collaboration and innovation since the establishment of CIUR in 2007.
