On Nov 18, Dr. Aziz Ikhlef, Chief Technology Officer of FMI Medical Systems Company, visited NIMTE.
During his visit, Dr. Aziz Ikhlef gave a presentation titled Detector Technology Optimization for CT Imaging. In his lecture, Dr. Aziz Ikhlef introduced his work in the CT detector research for more than 10 years, and demonstrated the development of detector technology in recent years. He explained the design and functionality of CT detectors in details. Then he discussed with the NIMTE researchers on some of the core technologies that influence the detector performances such as detection efficiency, spatial resolution, image quality, etc. In addition, Dr. Aziz Ikhlef presented the characteristics and future development of three major scintillation ceramic materials (HiLight, GOS, Gemstone) for medical CT detectors’ use. .

After the lecture, Dr. Aziz Ikhlef exchanged his ideas with the NIMTE researchers on relevant academic and technical issues. (Xiaoguang Zhao reports)
