World-famous fuel cell expert Dr. Ulf Bossel visited the Ningbo Institute of Material Technology and Engineering (NIMTE), the Chinese Academy of Sciences, on January 10, 2010.
Dr. Bossel visited the labs at the Fuel Cells and Energy Technology Division (FCET), NIMTE, and demonstrated his solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) stack module to researchers at the FCET. The FCET has been considered one of influential SOFC groups in the world. The mission of Dr. Bossel’s visit was to listen to the evaluation of the FCET on his self-developed stack module as well as to exchange recent progress in SOFC stack technologies.
Dr. Ulf Bossel received his PhD in aeronautical science from UC Berkeley in 1968 and moved into renewable-energy technologies since 1976. He has been involved in fuel cells and served as manager of ABB's fuel-cell development efforts worldwide. He became a freelance fuel cell consultant in 1990, with clients in Europe, Japan and the United States. He has many patents related to fuel cells, and he created and continues to head the highly recognized annual fuel-cell conference series of the European Fuel Cell Forum in Lucerne. The European Fuel Cell Forum has been recognized the most influential conference in the field of solid oxide fuel cells. (Reported by FCET)
