On the afternoon of Nov. 25th 2009, Yongxiang Lu, Vice-Chairperson of the National People's Congress (NPC) of the People's Republic of China, President of Chinese Academic Sciences visited NIMTE accompanied by Bayin Chaolu, Secretary of Ningbo Municipal Committee, Er-Wei Shi, Vice President of CAS, etc.
Accompanied by Ping Cui, Director of NIMTE, Qing Yan, Deputy Director of NIMTE, President Lu and his party looked around the Division of Specialty Fiber, the Division of Fuel Cell & Energy Technology, the Division of Magnetic Materials and Advanced Devices, and related laboratories. He also witnessed some research achievements of NIMTE. He cordially talked with researchers, and carefully watched the demonstration of the achievements.
Afterwards, a conference was held. At the meeting, first of all, Director Cui gave an account of the development of NIMTE and the preparation of the Industrial Technology Research Institute of Ningbo, then President Lu made a short speech. He said last time he visited NIMTE is 2007, he was so happy to see that NIMTE has made big changes and significant achievements during the last two years, He appreciated what we have done, and he believed that we have made a good example for other new institutes. He also said that the current global economic crisis has brought new challenges to us; the good way to retort the crisis is to improve our system, enhance management skill, and strengthen scientific and technological innovation capability, finally he hoped we would make every effort to benefit our country, our people, and the world.
