"CAS Internative Research International Partnership Plan " started in 2001．It aims to improve the development of related disciplines, to promote international cooperation and academic exchanges, to cultivate and gather a group of excellent high-level personnel, and to continuously improve our academic competitiveness. The Functional Oxide Materials and Application Team of NIMTE was launched in May 2006. In June 2008, it was appointed to be the first innovative team among all newly-founded institutions ofChinese Academy of Sciences. Professor Xiaoqing Pan, Director of the Nano Devices division，and Professor Ping Cui，NIMTE’s Director are in charge. The team will focus on studying the core problem of science and technology for the oxide materials used in the multi-function sense and control, the new types of information storage, and the new energy materials and technologies.

At the beginning of the meeting, Director Ping Cui introduced the general plan and the current status of NIMTE. Director Xiaoqing Pan gave a detailed introduction of the Nano Devices Division. Afterwards some experts made several wonderful presentations concerning multiferroic Materials, zinc oxide-based materials and devices, nano-powder materials, materials simulation and calculation. After the presentations, the members of the innovation team made a plan for next year and further dissolved the research subjects.

The conference exposed the graduate students on the research status of the functional oxide materials and devices as well as the cutting-edge researches．It reinforced the cooperation between the domestic and foreign team members. With the support of the International Partners Plan of Innovation Team, we believed the team will make significant research achievements in the functional oxide materials and applications.
