He is currently the deputy director of Magnetic Materials and advanced equipment department of the Ningbo Institute of Material Technology and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and candidates of “100 Talents Program of The Chinese Academy of Sciences” and “4321 Talent Project of Ningbo city”.

Dr. Aru Yan succeeded in synthesizing anisotropy Sm-Co melt-spinning series of single-phase permanent magnets with the high magnetic energy. And he simplified the heat treatment process of 2:17-type precipitation hardening Sm(Co, Fe, Cu, Zr)z melt spun. A new model of coercive force which is significantly better than other models, was established to interpret the anomalous coercivity behavior of temperature coefficient. In addition, Dr. Aru Yan used the rapid quenching technique, which greatly shorten the annealing time of the magnetic refrigeration materials La (Fe, Si) 13 and MnFePGe, and get a very high magnetic entropy change. Dr. Aru Yan has published over 60 papers in the academic journals and conferences, of which about 440 times have been cited. He received two national invention patents, and won the first prize in the Ministry of Education Science.

Research of hard magnetic materials and applied technology;
Research of rear-earth permanent magnetic materials’ synthetic characteristics;
Research on the magnetic entropychange of magnetic refrigerant materials;
Development and Application of new type function magnetic device.
