Research Interests:
I am interested in applications of various nanomaterials in biomedicine, bioanayltical chemistry/environmental sciences and nanostructures fabricated based on biomacromolecules at NIMTE, CAS in Ningbo.
l Applications of Nanomaterials in Biomedicine:
Multimodal Contrast Agents for Biomedical Imaging and Targeting Therapy
X-ray fluorescence maps of two whole MCF-7/WS8 cells transfected with TiO2-DNA oligonucleotide-Gd contrast agent nanoconjugates (NCs). Elemental maps of P, S, K, Ca, Ti, Mn, Cu, Zn, and Gd in two cells treated with nanoconjugates for 24 hours and then“washed”for 24 hours in nanoconjugate-free medium. Elemental maps show the range of concentrations in the sample in a rainbow color scale from highest (red) matching the number indicated to lowest signal (black). Elemental concentrations are given in micrograms per cm2. NCs were functionalized with R18 rDNA oligonucleotide at ratio of 1 NP: 30-600 Gd :10 oligonucleotides.

l Applications of Nanomaterials in Bioanalytical Chemistry/ Environmental Sciences:
We are developing a simple way to detect out toxic cations in aqueous solutions.
