Laboratory of Polymers and Composites
The Laboratory, among the first established at the NIMTE, is dedicated to addressing national strategic needs in green, low-carbon technologies and defense. The laboratory's research, driven by its dual strategic focus on "new civil applications" and "high-tech applications", falls into two key areas: the development of bio-based polymers, encompassing monomer synthesis, polymerization, processing, and application; and the synthesis & preparation of matrix resins, specialty fibers, and composites. This integrated work establishes a comprehensive technology chain spanning from fundamental monomers to advanced materials and high-value products. With a team of over 160 researchers, including two recipients of the State Council Special Allowance and several national- and provincial-level talents, it operates both Zhejiang Provincial and Ningbo Municipal Key Laboratories. This cements the position of this pioneering laboratory as a national leader in its field.
