Laboratory of Magnetic Materials and Applications
The Laboratory focuses on permanent magnets, soft magnetic materials, and magnetoelectronic materials. Through original innovation, breakthroughs in key technologies, and engineering demonstration, it has established an integrated chain spanning from materials design and fabrication to characterization and device applications. It comprises a strong interdisciplinary team of over 380 researchers under the leadership of two academicians and 14 national-level experts. Equipped with more than 300 sets of advanced instruments and nearly 50,000 m² of research and pilot facilities, the lab is dedicated to key fields including rail transit, wind power, AI computing, 6G communications, and anti-submarine aviation. It aims to tackle critical bottlenecks in next-generation magnets and high-frequency low-loss soft magnetic materials and devices.
