International Symposium on Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Technology Held in Ningbo on November 9-12

The International Symposium on Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Technology will be held on November 9-12 in Ningbo, a beautiful port city in the eastern coast of China.Solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) technology has attracted increasing interests from China and the world, and is on the verge of a commercialization boom. The International symposium on SOFC technology in Ningbo will provide a perfect platform for in-depth and in-breadth communications between academicians, research staffs, engineers, senior executives and investors on recent progress and commercialization status in SOFC technologies as well as cooperation opportunities, therefore promoting the development of SOFC technology in both academic and commercial aspects.

The symposium will be chaired by Dr. Subhash Singhal, the world-famous SOFC specialist and member of US National Academy of Engineering, and Professor Weiguo Wang, group leader of the NIMTE SOFC team. Top SOFC specialists in the world have been invited to give  plenary talks, including Dr. Subhash Singhal from the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, USA, Dr. Robert Steinberger-Wilckens from the Forschungszentrum Juelich, German, Dr. Teruhisa Hotita from the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, Japan, Dr. Niels Christansen from the Topsoe Fuel Cell A/S, Denmark, and Prof. Weiguo Wang from Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

In addition, the symposium has received endorsement from The Electrochemical Society (ECS) and six Dokiya Symposium Fund travel grants. This travel grant is up to $600 each and will be given to students and young researchers (under age 30) for the attendance of the symposium.

The symposium will focus on three aspects: cell and stack materials, stacks, systems and commercialization status, and SOFC performance and modeling. It is now calling for abstract in these fields. Interested researchers are encouraged to submit abstracts to SOFC2011@nimte.ac.cn. The abstract submission deadline is September 9, and the notification of acceptance will be September 15.

Conference language is English. Please visit www.sofc.com.cnfor more information.
