On May 17, with his group,  Dr. Thomas Krug, President of Hauzer  Techno Coating Company, Netherlands, paid a short visit to NIMTE.

During his visit, Dr. Thomas Krug gave a presentation titled “Modern technology in tool coating”. Firstly, a brief introduction of the development history Hauzer Techno Coating Company was made by Dr. Thomas Krug. Then he introduced several new technologies used for tool coating equipment, including arc evaporation, magnetron sputtering, high power impulse magnetron sputtering, as well as the plasma assisted chemical vapour deposition. Finally the hybrid technology for plasma nitriding in combination with PVD was introduced for molds and dies.

After the seminar, Mr Thomas and his colleagues took a short tour to the Marine Materials and Protection Technology Lab of NIMTE.
