Prof. Ortenberg from Humboldt University of Berlin Visits NIMTE
Mar 23, 2013

Prof. Michael von Ortenberg from Institute of Physics, Humboldt University at Berlin, Germany, visited NIMTE on March 20, 2013,invited by Ning Dai, director of the Division of New Energy Technology.

During his visit, Prof. Michael von Ortenberg gave a talk titled “Nano-Structure and High Magnetic Fields Partners in Physical Research”. In his lecture, Prof. Michael von

Ortenberg introduced the formation of ultrahigh magnetic field and their ingenious design about magnetic field leap from 100T to 1000T. He also demonstrated the physical properties of nano-semiconductor in high magnetic field. The report opened a mysterious world in the ultrahigh magnetic field for the young researchers and attracted a lot of concern. After the lecture, Prof. Michael von Ortenberg exchanged his ideas with the NIMTE researchers on related academic and technical issues.

Prof. Michael von Ortenberg is guest professor of many prestigious universities and research institutes in Belgium, France and Japan. More than 350 of his academicpapers have been published.Hisresearchinterestfocuses on semiconductors in megagaussmagnetic field. (Yang Xi reports.)
